Imagine: what would you see if there were no light?
Consisting of flowing LED tubes and a mysterious soundscape, Emissivescapes invites you to examine the relationship between light and vision. The soundscape of the work is enigmatic and magical, which, together with the variously moving light elements and different reflections, creates a captivating and enchanting experience.
Seeing is only possible when light connects the object being viewed and the viewer, because we cannot see without light. When viewing the work, you can consider how it feels when you look at it closer and how that experience changes when you move away to view it from a distance.
Emissivescapes is an immersive sound and light art installation produced in collaboration between the Kyoto-based artist group Spektra and the Japanese artist collective ETERNAL Art Space. Spektra is a dynamically evolving artist group whose guiding principle is to combine experimentation and expression. ETERNAL Art Space is an artist collective that seeks to transcend the traditional boundaries between art and entertainment in a hands-on approach.
