Nov 22–Dec 14 Christmas in the Old Great Square
Christmas in the Old Great Square is arranged this year during the four weekends leading up to Christmas: Nov 22–23, Nov 29–30, Dec 6–7, and Dec 13–14, at 11–17.
Dec 4–7 The Path of Light light art event
The popular event Path of Light is this year arranged for the fifth time. The event, spaning from the Cathedral to the harbour, displays 12 wonderful light art installations, seasonal lights, a wide range of restaurants, and interesting additional programme!
Dec 6 Independence Day holiday concerts
During the Independence Day holiday concerts, traditional musical pieces by Finnish composers are played. The programme contains pieces like Finlandia by Sibelius, and the concerts end with joint singing of the Finnish national anthem by Pacius.
The Philharmonic orchestra is led by Aku Sorensen and the leading solist singer Maria Ylipää.
The concerts are arranged in Turku Concert Hall on Saturday, Dec 6, 2025, at 12 o’clock and 15 o’clock.
Dec 12 Ecumenical Christmas
The traditional event Ecumenical Christmas in Finland’s Turku is arranged this year in Turku Cathedral on Thursday, Dec 11, 2025, at 18 o’clock.
Dec 13 Lucia Day
On Lucia Day, you can see the Lucia procession in Turku at the Old Market Square during the Christmas Market, in the Cathedral, and in the Hansa Shopping Centre.
Dec 24 Declaration of Christmas peace
The declaration of Christmas peace is traditionally carried out on the balcony of Brinkkala Mansion at the Old Market Square on Christmas Eve, Dec 24, at 12 o’clock.
